there's no way that baby has the cognitive capacity to understand how cool he/she is

I... think he was enjoying himself. Bewildered, sure, but not overtly upset.
He doesn't know it yet, but he's doomed to be a cosplay prop for the foreseeable future. I don't think we have the room to store them, but I'd love to see Littlest Wanderer and Daddy Colossus or Baby Snake and Dad-Walker. Mrs. Ideal has said outright that we're doing Link from Ocarina of Time when he's older, as in Young and Old Link(s) together. Our hair color won't be right, but fuck you, I have a baby.
Which reminds me, I have one bit of advice for anyone thinking of being a parent: MAKE THE COSTUME BEFORE THEY'RE BORN. You won't have time to make anything great when you're keeping a larval human from beaning their head on every hard surface available.

Re: My Life is Awesome and You Can Too
Stush and I have been part of the Achewood Facebook group for a while now, and I saw that they were doing their yearly con ONE STREET OVER from my apartment this year. Everything was comin' up Mothra. THEN my cousin scheduled his wedding on the same day, so, there went that plan. Highly doubt they'll ever do another con in Boston, either, since they're always moving it around.
Anyways, I managed to get invited to a bunch of stuff surrounding the con, like a baseball game at Fenway and a tasting at Night Shift Brewery, followed by hitting up a cool little hidden speakeasy to close out the night. Travelled a lot around the city, spent more than I expected, but man, that was a ton of fun. Felt like I met everyone I wanted to during those two days, so I'm satisfied. Even got a "Liquid Banjo" etched tumbler for free.
